Adopting Charlie
In the morning of July 16th, I picked Charlie up and we were on our way. Heading out of Prince George, we made our way to Jasper. Charlie is eager to please and ready to see anything and everything! I’m already having such a wonderful time with him, I couldn’t have had a better furry companion to share these expereinces with. He settles perfectly well in the car, but becomes quickly excited upon the realization of imminent adventures! We enjoyed a lovely hike around the Valley of the Five Lakes. Charlie loves to swim! He was happy to jump into the water and splash around with me.
Leaving Jasper, we headed on to Banff. En route we stopped for a photo op in Lake Louise. After arriving in Banff, we discovered a dog park in which Charlie loved making other dog friends! Driving through Banff National Park, we came across plenty of wildlife. I soon discovered that Charlie loves to bark at deer and bears. I’ve learned to drive a little faster past the wildlife as Charlie lets out a deep growl. He settles back down when they’re out of eyesight though. We visited the Banff downtown area as well. Walking around the town, Charlie left an impression on everyone he met! He loves to meet people and steal their hearts! We also went for a walk around the Banff Springs Hotel. Then down to the Bow Falls just off the grounds of the hotel.
After leaving Banff, we drove on to Calgary. We spent our first night in a dog-friendly hotel close to the airport as my boyfriend, Justin, was to fly home the following morning. It was nice to be able to shower after camping for the first week! After dropping Justin off at the airport, Charlie and I found a fantastic off-leash dog park! The park is huge and runs along a river. We spent a good amount of time there and then headed over to visit my Aunt and Uncle. We have enjoyed their hospitality and are greatful to them for allowing us to stay. They took me to my first ever football game! I’m not a huge sports person; however, I enjoyed myself! Next we’ll be heading back to Banff to visit my sister!
